Technique
A laser excitation pulse produces charge carriers in a thin film which are driven to electrodes by a constant electric field applied on the film. The resulting current transient is recorded by a digital osilloscope. The time domain extends from ns to µs.

Units
Q-switched Nd-YAG laser system with optical parametric oscillator, detection.

Applications
Analysis of the transient current allows to determine on carrier mobility and recombination rate.
