8. Single Molecule Fluorescence Decay and Spectra on ns-µs time scale

Technique 

The setup records the fluorescence decay of a sample at single molecule level via TC-SPC and records the spectra by a combination of a spectrograph and a highly sensitive CCD camera detector. The confocal microscopy provides luminescence decay traces and emission spectra on a µs time scale.

Applications

The setup provides fluorescence lifetime microscopy with a time- and space-resolved single-photon counting detector. This is important for detecting peculiar processes that averaged at bulk level. The time resolution is limited to 600 ps and spatial resolution to about 300 nm.
